John Downey, CMTS Technical Leader at Cisco.

Today’s topic is a discussion on DOCSIS 3.1 and FDX. But also:

  1. Ethernet over Coax Overlay
  2. Modulated Signal
  3. Over coming barriers point to point wireless
  4. FDX brings more upstream speed but needs R-PHY to go 1GIG service
  5. 4 upstream channels from 5 to 42 MHz, upstream 0,1,2,3 then 24 MHz  OFDMA Channel, three more SE QAM Channels Upstream 4,5,6 somewhere where the 24 MHz OFDMA channel stops and between 85 MHz. The 24 MHz channel is a buffer the first 4 channels and the last 4 channels.
