In The News:

In the State of Colorado, all Festivals, fairs, parades and concerts have been postponed or canceled across the Centennial State for the rest of 2020 by the state’s Governor. This means SCTE Expo too! According to an SCTE Chapter Bulletin, the SCTE is currently looking into plans for events. The memo went on to further say that the SCTE will honor all eligible requests for refunds.

To our main content – DOCSIS 3.1 Upstream – OFDMA what are the benefits, what are the challenges, why do OFDMA at all and why don’t we just stick with a 42 MHz return because I like things the way they are!

DOCSIS 3.1 upstream has many components:

  • Spectrum allocation – 42, 65, 85, 204, D4.0
  • Power levels
  • DRW – dynamic range window and tilt
  • Achievable speeds
  • Profile management
  • Cross-bonding
